Big Train® Announces Partnership with Good Sports

Big Train®, a leading manufacturer and distributor of premium drink mixes, announced a new partnership with Good Sports. In conjunction with the launch of Fit Frappe™, a new protein drink mix product line, Big Train will donate a portion of profits from sales of Fit Frappe™ products to Good Sports.
Good Sports’ mission is to increase youth participation in sports, fitness, and recreational programs by targeting one of the major obstacles limiting participation-access to sports equipment. Since 2003, Good Sports has provided $ 5.7 Million worth of equipment impacting over 300,000 kids, while serving the needs of over 750 youth programs across the United States.

During the last 20 years, there has been a dramatic increase in obesity in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 17% of children and adolescents aged 2-19 years old are obese. The NDIC reports that about 215,000 people under the age of 20 had diabetes in 2010. According to The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), a large prevention study of people at high risk for diabetes, showed that lifestyle intervention to lose weight and increase physical activity reduced the development of type 2 diabetes by 58 percent during a 3-year period. Big Train believes that if more kids can be supported and encouraged to play sports, more kids will learn to adopt healthier habits that include physical activity.
